Masque Of The Red Death

Private Collection
Inspired by Edgar Allen Poe’s short story of the same title. The entity that is death wears a magnificent dress. Her hands are golden with genuine garnet gemstone claws, sharp as daggers. In one hand she holds a pendulum of garnet and rubies that she gracefully swings back and forth. In her other hand she holds a mask made of broken red glass and crystals that glow from a warm light behind it. Though the mask is beautiful, its features are not specific and make those who look upon it yearn to see the wearers true face. She teases such curiosity with slight glimpses behind her mask, revealing a double-headed skull with a gold fanged grin and eyes of blood red garnet embedded within ancient coins. When the timeless clock strikes twelve, Death stands upon a pile of bones that was once the masquerade.
