Created for the Clockwork Alchemy Fashion Show. The theme of the fashion show: Art Worn as Fashion. The mechanical butterfly coming out of the hat flutters around the head. There is a real butterfly in the centerpiece of the hat. I created white leather patchwork on the corset and the hat and lined the butterfly domes with the same white leather. Adorned with brass victorian filigree are eight real butterflies and one moth inside of acrylic domes. The domes on the shoulders are part of a white leather harness. During the fashion show Each model/ designer stood within a custom made steampunk frame so the audience could walk through an observe a maze of fashion the same way they would at an art gallery. A slide show about the wardrobes and designers played in the background with atmospheric music to set the mood. Held at the Clockwork Alchemy grand ballroom in San Jose on May 27th, 2016.
